Our Story

Local Family Farm

Got To Be NC.png

It all started in 1947 when Charles McCoy returned home from his service in the United States Navy after WWII. He came home to his beloved home town of Cove City. His family farm was waiting for him where he raised cattle, tobacco, and corn. He also ran a grocery store in the town he was born and raised in. His son Myron McCoy worked along side his dad learning the ways of the land and growing to love the farm life just as his dad did. Myron continue the farming operation after Granddaddy Charles past away. He raised cattle, hogs, corn, and soybeans. Myron along with his wife Sharon McCoy had two children, Cheryl and Charlie. Cheryl her husband David, and their children Josie and Talton run a farm in Woodleaf, NC. Charlie graduated from NC State University in 1999 and returned home to work and continue the family tradition his granddaddy and dad had started. Charlie alongside his wife Kristen are currently working the farm along with their boys, Wyatt  and Lucas under the watchful eye of the family leaders Myron and Sharon. Charlie and Myron are partners in McCoy Cattle Farms while Sharon serves as the farm secretary and Kristen works as the James W. Smith Elementary's School Learning Systems Coach.
